Ultimate Chocolate Brownies

Hey everyone!

How are you doing? Just a short post for you today! I think you can agree with me when I say that baking brownies is risky business. Sometimes they come out too hard; sometimes they're too soft; sometimes they don't even taste like chocolate. Well, thankfully, after years of research, my mum and I have found the perfect recipe - and I'm here to tell you all about it! This is definitely something to try whilst you've got time on your hands. Trust me, it'll be worth it! Before I get into it, I'm sorry for not taking more pictures of the process - you would've thought I'd have learnt the blogging trick by now! Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy and try this recipe out!

Ingredients (for one square tin of brownies):

  • 170g Butter

  • 170g Dark Chocolate (in small pieces)

  • 100g Brown Sugar

  • 160g Caster Sugar

  • 3 Eggs

  • 1 tsp. Salt

  • 1 tsp. Vanilla Essence

  • 170g White Chocolate (broken into varying sizes)

  • 100g Plain Flour

  • 100g Cherries (optional)

Recipe:

  1. Oil and line your baking tin/s. Preheat your oven to 180°.

  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan.

  3. When the butter has melted, add caster sugar and brown sugar and stir for 1 minute.

  4. Add the dark chocolate and salt and mix well until the chocolate has melted.

  5. Take the saucepan off the heat to cool.

  6. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, and add this to the chocolate mixture.

  7. Add the flour and mix well.

  8. Add vanilla essence and some chunks of white chocolate. Add the cherries if you’d like.

  9. Pour the mixture into the prepared tin/s and add some larger white chocolate pieces on top.

  10. Bake for 35 minutes, or until just done (insert a skewer and it should be just lightly covered in batter). If you wait until the skewer comes out dry, your brownies will come out too hard.

There you have it! Easy as that! Let me know if you try them out!
